  • Angkor What?

    Hi folks

Well after spending a little more time than planned in Delhi airport (over 11 hours in fact) I arrived exhausted in Bangkok, got a taxi to our hotel and then flaked out after eating some room service!  That was my weekend gone! lol

Monday we decided to explore some of Bangkok and had a small trip on a tuk-tuk to see the standing buddha and sitting buddha - all we actually wanted to do to begin with was go to the Grand Palace but we got sucked in by the locals who want you to go on tuk-tuks so they could get some free petrol.  En-route to seeing the buddhas we also got to visit two tailor shops, a rug shop and even two gem shops - all I can say is that it was an experience! lol

Then Tuesday we decided to take it easy....a nice walk down to the Golden Mountain, Democracy Monument and a statue of Rama III - unfortunately there was like more than 300 steps up this mountain and so for the past couple of days my thighs have been feeling a little stiff.  Over the past couple of weeks spent at home driving around in my car my hamstrings had become a little relaxed so hopefully my legs will be nicely toned....ready for winter?! lol

But anyway, we left Bangkok yesterday and drove across the border to Cambodia and we're now in Siem Reap (home to Angkor Wat).  The countryside and villages were exactly how I imagined them to be.  Today we went to see some of the 18 temples that still remain in Siem Reap including one where they filmed Tomb Raider - I saw the opening of where Angelina Jolie ran across!  Tomorrow, we are getting up at like 4am to go out to Angkor Wat and watch the sun rise so it's gonna be a long day me thinks.

Saturday afternoon we will be departing for Phnom Penh and will be visiting the 'killing fields' and a museum which I know will be an eye-opener for me.  I shall let you know how that goes.

But for now my buddies be good xxx

  • Only 10 hours till I go!

Yep, just 10 hours to go until I leave again and guess what.... I've still got to pack the last few remaining items - not only that but I've developed a nasty cough and cold so I shall spread that around the plane ... what?  I don't have a problem with sharing! lol

I feel a lot more relaxed this time round, however I'm not looking forward to spending 7 odd hours in Delhi airport between 11pm and 7am but it's not worth going to a hotel only to come back again like 5 hours later so I have two good books to keep me occupied.

So we (Sara and I) arrive in Bangkok (separately) and we start our first tour of Cambodia and Vietnam on 25th September for 9 days so I can't wait - Angkor Wat has always been a place that I've wanted to visit and I'm actually gonna be there in like a weeks time!  Then it's a tour of Northern Thailand from 6th October and after that it's our Malaysia tour which commences on 17th October.

So for now my friends take care and be good....and I'll try to do the same! x

  • A change of mood!

I think the title says it all really...I'm feeling a lot happier about things (the family will tell you that!) I think it helps that I've been keeping myself pretty busy over the past few days.

Friday night and Saturday day time were quite boring but I met up with a new friend I made and we went out for a meal and then onto The Ship and then the Tavern - I'm being such a rebel I stayed out till nearly 4am...I never did it in my teenage years so I'm making up for it now...ha ha ha.  Then yesterday mum, dad and Sara went to Broadstairs and I thought I'd tag along however my plans changed and I got dropped off in Herne Bay to meet up with my new friend and so I stayed there for a few hours and we chatted etc .

Today I've not done much except get my car insurance sorted and get my legs, armpits, bikini line and upper lip waxed and man did the last two hurt!!  OUCH!!  But now I'm as smooth as a baby's bum and I feel girly...well as girly as I'll ever be, right?! lol

I've arranged to meet Jo and possibly Emma in Tonbridge tomorrow for lunch again - it gives me a drive out and it is quite a nice drive....being currently unemployed I don't get to go out in my lovely car as much.  Wednesday I'm off to Herne Bay again for some lunch and it looks like I'm also going out Wednesday night to a bar in Maidstone overlooking the river - yes another 'alternative' bar! lol

And then Thursday I nearly double booked myself but luckily sorted it out and so now I'm going into Chatham to meet up with a few of the guys from work for a pub lunch which I'm looking forward to.

So then it'll be Friday in no time at all and so I shall use that day to make sure I've packed everything ready for departure on Saturday....I managed to change my flight to Saturday which means that mum and dad only have to go on the M25 once now as Sara also flies out that morning but she goes from Gatwick whereas I go from Heathrow.

I'm really looking forward to this next segment of my trip now and I hope that it's everything that I expect it to be.  I'll be glad to get away from all the crappy tv that's on - I never missed it once!

I'll post another blog hopefully before I jet off but until then readers I shall bid you goodbye xxx

P.S. Jules (my cat) has only just forgiven me for going away the first time - he slept on my bed for the first time the other night, first time since I got home and now I'm just about to go away again...he's gonna be pi**ed at me!! lol

  • What should one do?

Hi peeps, I thought I'd just write a quick blog...let you all know I'm still alive! lol

Wow, what a week it's been for me - I'm kidding it's been pretty quiet and we all know why that is, don't we boys and girls?!  I met up with Jo, Emma and Sara for lunch on Tuesday in Tonbridge and had a bit of a gossip which was nice and we've decided to meet up again some time next week too - you know say bye before I jet off again.

The break-up is difficult because I have so many unanswered questions about that relationship but I know I'm not gonna get any answers whatsoever so all I can do is move on and tell myself that I tried everything in my power to make it work but it just wasn't meant to be.

However, saying that I'm feeling quite smug because I took myself out to the Riverside Tavern (yes all alone to a gay pub) and met some people there.  Got talking to a couple of women but didn't pull....well not until I was driving one of them home and .... hey, I'm not telling you!  All I will say is that I'm single now so I can do what I want and not have to answer to anyone!   I promised you all that I would enjoy myself and so that is what I'm doing and yes I felt better about myself so a good job done me thinks!

Sorry to my mum for putting it on here but I had to share it!! lol

I leave for Delhi on Friday 21st and get a connecting flight to Bangkok where I meet up with Sara to do Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia for which I will be away for nearly six weeks.  I am hoping that when I come back not only will I have gotten over the breakup but also enjoyed my travels, maybe meet a nice girl or two along the way and figure out exactly what career I want...and pigs may fly on the last bit!

So yeah, a slightly happier update I feel and with luck they'll keep getting better and better!  Much love peeps xxx

  • I'm home and all alone!

So yeah, I'm home now - got back yesterday and talked with my now ex-girlfriend ... what a great home-coming that was!!  All I will say is that we wanted different things...maybe one day I'll tell you but for now I'm just dealing with it!  So right now I'm trying to mend a broken heart and get into the right frame of mind for the next stage of my travels.

Before I jetted home me and Cathy stopped over in India and we took a day trip to Agra to see the Taj Mahal - I didn't realise it was a hollow building!  It's a magnificent building though - it was just a shame we sweated constantly due to the high temperature that day!  That was Sunday and then I left Cathy at 5am Monday morning and she flew to Thailand later that evening.

By the time I was in India I was ready to come home .... and now...well now I feel as though what the hell have I come home for?  No girlfriend, no job and nothing to do!!  I'm in a lonely place right now so I'm making a point of doing things to keep myself occupied - I mean I'm even going out tomorrow night to go bingo...that's how desperate I am to keep busy! lol

You know right now I'm feeling quite wreckless and I feel like I just need to have a bit of fun...yes that type of fun - I'm even considering going out on my own to a bar and 'meeting' some lovely ladies!  So if any of you know of anyone that might be interested then call me! lol

So for now...well I'll keep myself busy (or try to anyway) and I will focus on my next lot of travelling with Sara (my sister).  Oh and I shall be meeting up with a few friends too which should be good - I need some gossip!! lol

P.S. After 10 years of bullying my sisters I have now been told that I'm going to be an Auntie!! Yippee
